Financial Analyst – Suffern, NY

Reporting to the Controller and CFO, the Financial Analyst will analyze past financial performance to provide accurate and data based information for internal company analysis and metrics that will be used to advise the company on its financial strategy. The Financial Analyst will work as part of a team to create the necessary reports, models, and financial plans for the company. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Analyze business, financial, and tax related data.
  • Create financial models based on analyses to support organizational decision making.
  • Provide data to third party sales tax service provider for accurate and timely tax filings.
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, and develop reports on company performance.
  • Calculate and compile Cost of Goods Sold analysis.
  • Develop automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Company location: Suffern, NY (30 miles outside of NYC).

Position location: Suffern, NY. Hybrid (3 days/week onsite) after successful training.

 

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field.
  • 2-3 years previous professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or analyst.
  • CPA or CFA certification a plus.
  • Basic knowledge and experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office with a strong focus on Excel formulas and functions (vlookups, pivot tables, etc. experience a must).
  • Demonstrable experience working with large sets of data.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks), Tableau.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality regarding financially sensitive information and a high level of integrity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with fellow employees, customers, suppliers, outside professionals, senior management, and ownership.
  • Desire to join a growing team while having an impact on the future of the company.
