Staff Accountant

Reporting to the CFO, the Assistant Controller will help the company to make critical financial decisions and will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and inventory.

  • Expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. Generally, work is performed Monday through Friday, though holidays and weekends may be required

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform general cost accounting and other related duties from the accounting department
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the books on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
  • Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections
  • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance, gathers necessary account information and documentation to perform the annual audit
  • Provides cost accounting expertise and guidance for manufacturing operations. Works closely with manufacturing operations to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs and effective analysis of production variances
  • Works closely with the CFO to ensure appropriate pricing decisions are made, taking into effect company’s contribution/gross margins, competitive and other market conditions
  • In collaboration with the print facility Manager, manages materials inventory and ordering

 

We’re Looking for Someone With

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related discipline
  • Previous accounting experience – Public accounting a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
  • Strong accounting software, analytical and administrative skills
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks
  • Excellent communication skills and analysis skills
