Business Development Manager (BDM)

Marketing Solutions – Retail & Ecommerce

We are looking for an experienced sales professional to lead our business development efforts with a focus on retail & Ecommerce.  You will plan and execute effective sales strategies and tactics in support of our business goals.  This is a hands-on, action-oriented position in a fast-growing company.

  • Company location: Suffern, NY
  • Position location: Unless you are local to our NY office, your home will be your base office and must be located near a major airport. This role requires approximately 50% travel nationally
  • Assigned Territory: Nationally, with a focus on The Tops 250 bricks & mortar & Ecommerce retailers. This position will lead our business development efforts and be responsible to develop and leverage industry connections and nurture all business development and marketing efforts
  • Expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. Generally, work is performed Monday through Friday, though holidays and weekends may be required

Core Responsibilities

  • New business development, including selling services and direct mail products to a diverse client base in a manner which promotes a long-term partnership
  • Market expansion by leveraging connections, referrals and research to obtain new qualified leads in assigned territories
  • Partners with prospects and strategic customers to identify challenges and understand their business needs to establish the best solutions that LS Direct can provide
  • Practice solution selling, as a consultative approach, to build a long-term, multi-solution relationship
  • Effectively manage the sales pipeline and communicate the value proposition of our products and services throughout the sales process. Make highly professional, high-caliber product demonstrations and live and web presentations
  • Ensure timely, high-quality client launches, nurture client relationships and upsell
  • Represent the company at conferences and networking events

 

We’re Looking for Someone With

  • 5+ years in a B2B Sales quota-carrying role
  • BA or MA degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Communication or a similar field
  • SaaS or marketing services sales strongly preferred, with experience in direct marketing or digital retargeting a plus. However, if you do not have this experience you must have a strong retail background and business network in your territory/industry
  • Significant organizational skills and experience with CRM tools and MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for prospecting, presentations, and proposals. A highly professional character, and confident, articulate communication style
  • Team and execution oriented. Builds positive company culture, highly engaged, solicits and provides feedback proactively, self-starter, results oriented who relies on objective evidence and resolves issues both internally and externally in a non-confrontational way
  • Experience effectively negotiating and upselling

We are looking for an experienced sales professional to lead our business development efforts in a new vertical – the Home Improvement industry.  You will plan and execute effective sales strategies and tactics in support of our business goals.  This is a hands-on, action-oriented position in a fast-growing company.

  • Company location: Suffern, NY
  • Position location: Unless you are local to our NY office, your home will be your base office and must be located near a major airport. This role requires approximately 50% travel nationally
  • Assigned Territory: Nationally in the flooring and surfaces industry. This position will lead our business development efforts and be responsible to develop and leverage industry connections and nurture all business development and marketing efforts as we enter this new vertical
  • Expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. Generally, work is performed Monday through Friday, though holidays and weekends may be required

We are looking for an experienced client care professional to join our Client Success team. You will work with industry leading multi-channel retailers developing, evaluating and executing their direct marketing efforts. This is a hands-on, action-oriented position in a fast-growing company.

  • Company location: Suffern, NY
  • Position location: Suffern, NY. This role requires approximately 5 – 10% travel nationally
  • Expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. Generally, work is performed Monday through Friday, though holidays and weekends may be required

  • Using a consultative approach working with key client decisionmakers, identify and understand client challenges and business needs to provide the best solutions and additional revenue opportunities
  • Ensure client satisfaction by setting and meeting client expectations. Execute highly professional, high-caliber client status meetings, discussions and presentations, including post-campaign analysis both in person and via web and phone meetings
  • Understand and effectively communicate our product offering and communicate the value proposition of our products and services throughout the process
  • Manages the internal team to meet client expectations, execute campaigns and day-to-day deliverables. “Own” client campaigns from start to finish
  • Work effectively with Sales team to ensure timely, high-quality client launches

We’re Looking for Someone With

  • 5+ years in a client facing Account Executive or similar role
  • BA or MA degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Communication or a similar relevant field
  • Marketing account management experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of direct marketing a plus
  • Significant organizational skills and experience with CRM tools and MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build and maintain relationships and marketing plans and proposals. A highly professional character, and confident, articulate communication style
  • Team and execution oriented. Builds positive company culture, highly engaged, solicits and provides feedback proactively, self-starter, results oriented who relies on objective evidence and resolves issues both internally and externally in a non-confrontational way
